Modules of bathymetry and geodesy dedicated to the maritime delineations

OffSIS is a geodetic module developed on the GIS product, Cadcorp SIS. SIS allows the association of each file with the projection in which the co-ordinates of the data are expressed, then to display the sum of those in the projection of its choice. SIS can read on the fly, a great number of file formats and contains a complete library of projections and datums of the world, which can easily be personalized by the user. |

OffSIS carries out geodetic constructions in the projection that is associated with the data file. It is therefore possible to draw in projection WGS84/Plate carree a loxodrome between a first point expressed in NTF/Lambert projection and a second known in ED50/Mercator. For measurements, OffSIS is based on the projection of vizualisation. |

Functionalities offered by OffSIS
OffSIS offers geodetic constructions tools such as the layout of loxodromes, great circle lines, meridian lines and parallels, bisectors, perpendiculars, the calculation of the "tri-point", etc...
The maritime tools for delineations allow the calculation of the maritime zones defined in the Convention, the construction of the equidistant line, the determination of the main direction of the coast, the relevant coast line...

BathySIS is a tool making it possible to build, handle, and exploit geo-referred matrix data files (called models). This tool is particularly well adapted to the treatments on the DTM : calculation of isobaths, creation of profiles, smoothing of model, comparison of models (Boolean operations...), determination of the peaks, talwegs, change of slopes, etc... |

The functionalities of BathySIS find all their interest in the maritime delineations and particularly within the framework of article 76 of the Convention concerning the extension of the continental shelf. This module makes possible to recover the line of isobath 2500m, the line of the foot of slope of the continental shelf, the line of the formulas related to the thickness of the sediments, etc... |
The union of these two modules is the perfect solution to establish the sea zones of a State, the maritime boundaries, and for the evaluation of maritime delineation scenario.
